Normally, 10 minutes of wear is a good gauge for me with scents b/c they wear off on me SO. DANG. FAST. So, I did a little experiment after excitedly unboxing my new Dossier Spicy Mimosa. I spritzed my authentic Jo Malone Mimosa Cardamom on my left wrist and my new Dossier impression on my right wrist. Then I ran a work meeting, answered some emails, did a barre workout, and fixed lunch. About a 2. 5-hour window, all told. So definitely not an "all day" kinda test, but significant for a work-from-home gal who has been known to dab on a few spritzes throughout the day. The verdict: Jo Malone has a softer, more powdery initial burst whereas Dossier is cardamom-forward and just the tiniest bit spicier (to my nose, anyway). That said, the dry down was so similar I almost couldn't tell - and as a mom of three boys, I have a PhD in detecting smells and smell differences. Two and a half hours later, my right wrist had a more distinct, lingering scent that still bore the notes that keep me coming back to this $170-a-bottle perfume, while the actual $170-a-bottle left wrist version had all but disappeared. Was it exact science? Nah. But for price difference of over $100 - that's snacks for the week in a house with multiple teenagers - I'll freakin' take the win.

I'm new to the perfume world so I'm excited to start my collection with my first Dossier purchases! I got sticker shocked when sampling Jo Malone's bottles so this is absolutely heaven sent when I landed on their Spicy Mimosa version. There's a sexy sophistication about this scent that isn't overbearing. It hits all the right notes of warmth and depth for me. I've discovered that some strong scents give me headaches, probably because I don't normally surround myself with a lot of fragrance except for candles, but this scent isn't too strong for me. It has been a crowd pleaser and ultimately won the approval of my husband, which is a big plus! This scent continues to grow on me after every use! Definitely a repeat purchase when I run out!

Smooth sandalwood and luscious mimosa flowers with a light cardamom kick. With just he faintest hint of rose, this accurate dupe for Jo Malone’s Mimosa and Cardamom Cologne is balanced out by creamy tonka and heliotrope. It’s pleasant and sweet, easy to wear like Peony & Blush Suede and Scarlet Poppy. I like to layer it with Musky Gaiac for a flowers and smoky woods in the forest kind of vibe. Add something with incense, and this is a spring forest ritual vibe.
