Ambery Cherry (inspired by Tom Ford's Lost Cherry) opens with an incredible burst of cherry and almond, which progressively vanishes to give room to warm spices, like cinnamon and clove, and fresh flowers, like rose and jasmine. Next, vanilla and Peru balm materialize, warming up the fragrance to give room for a rich and ambery structure.
Daring, extravert, and gourmand, Ambery Cherry (our impression of Tom Ford's Lost Cherry) is a unique and tantalizing statement, drawing you in or leaving you looking for more. Either way, it’s a scent that can’t be ignored.

Ambery Cherry
Powerful and Insatiable
Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry (the scent that inspired Ambery Cherry) was released in 2018 as a new addition to the brand’s Private Blend collection. Just one sniff of the luxury fragrance that Ambery Cherry is inspired by, and you’ll get a candy-sweet scent of luscious black cherries mixed with the aroma of fresh tobacco. It’s one of the first food-inspired perfumes to come out of the brand’s luxury beauty line. And it’s a good one, too! It smells exactly like a sweet, delectable treat, coated with a shimmering layer of sweet, sticky syrup.
Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry is a mainly amber floral fragrance, with the dominant flavors being sour cherry, bitter almond, and liquor. It’s a combination that makes it feel very sophisticated, memorable, and utterly unique compared to other fragrances out there.
The fragrance opens with a sweet aroma: A haze of sugar, salt, and sweet musk atop a bowl of rich, dark cherries. It’s nothing less than a full-on sugar bomb. The top notes vie for the attention of the senses. But as quickly as they came, within minutes, the fragrance almost immediately settles into a darker, albeit still sweet experience. At its heart, you’ll discover a black cherry cordial of sorts. It’s fragrant and delicious, like the dark, sweet liquid that oozes out from biting into molten chocolate treats. Nearing its base, Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry transforms into a much smoother, warmer scent, letting its more floral and woody notes take over. An accord of sandalwood, cedar, vetiver, and vanilla musk draws the fragrance to a lovely and comforting close.
This is a very well-rounded, warm gourmand scent. This fragrance is very appropriate to wear during the fall and winter because of its vanilla and woody notes that last long enough through the long, cold days. The fragrance isn’t too overpowering either, making it a great evening scent to wear on a date or during dinner.
The luxury fragrance that Ambery Cherry is inspired by is available in 1 oz (30 ml), 1.7 oz (50 ml), 3.4 oz (100 ml) Eau de Parfum bottle sizes.
Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry is one of the most popular pieces in its fragrance line. Unfortunately, this exquisite concoction will set you back a cool $320. Dossier’s Ambery Cherry may be a cheaper alternative with no compromises on scent. Our dupe captures the essence of fresh cherry, jasmine, and vanilla to create a unique and tantalizing scent — drawing you in and leaving you wanting more. This is definitely not a fragrance you want to skip out on!

I recently tried the Dossier “Ambery Cherry” Eau de Parfum, inspired by Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry, and I have to say I’m genuinely impressed with both the scent quality and value.
Right from the first spray, you get a rich burst of sweet, slightly tart cherry that smells natural—not overly artificial or candy-like. It’s balanced beautifully with a warm, almost ***** depth that gives it a more mature, luxurious feel. As it settles, the fragrance becomes softer and creamier, with subtle hints of almond and vanilla that add warmth and smoothness. There’s also a light ***** undertone that keeps it from being too sweet and makes it feel more unisex.
The longevity is surprisingly good for the price point. On my skin, it lasts around 6–8 hours, and even longer on clothing. The projection is moderate—it’s noticeable without being overpowering, which makes it perfect for both everyday wear and special occasions.
What really stands out is how close it smells to the high-end inspiration. If you love the vibe of Lost Cherry but don’t want to spend luxury prices, this is an excellent alternative. The packaging is simple but clean and elegant, and the bottle feels sturdy and well-made.
Overall, “Ambery Cherry” is a warm, sweet, slightly seductive fragrance that works well year-round but especially shines in cooler weather. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, affordable dupe that doesn’t sacrifice performance or sophistication.

- KayI do not recommend this productRated 2 out of 5 stars1/6/26My only disappointment
This has been the only perfume I've purchased from dossier that has been a complete disappointment. I blind bought few months ago because cherry scents were supose to be popular pretty sure it was labeled as a women's scent at the time also but me nor anyone I've let smell like it. It has a cherry smell but not a good one. Its very bland to me and definitely not feminine smell. My sis in law got a five below cherry perfume that smells way better. I got this when I got my ambery vanilla and a few weeks late my floral marshmallow but I still have not even used it as much as my fruity violet and fruity almond I got for cyber Monday.

This smells so beautiful. Cherry is my favorite note in perfume. I tend to be a bit of a cherry snob but this is really beautiful. I will definitely be purchasing again.
Was this helpful?DPDossier Perfumes11/27/25Kim, we’re so glad our cherry twist passed your cherry-snob test! It’s awesome to connect with a fellow cherry lover 😊 We can’t wait to have you spritz again.
- Sydney V.I recommend this productRated 5 out of 5 stars9/18/25Perfect “Lost Cherry” Dupe!!!!
I have the Tom Ford “Lost Cherry”sample and compared side by side. They are incredibly similar, I notice that the initial scent when you first spray Dossier is more watery smelling. But after it settled, the scent is an exact match to Tom Ford. Very pleasantly surprised and would recommend this dupe! It smells soo wonderful.

I order this for my Mom. I just wrapped the box up and placed it under the tree. When she unwrapped the box you could smell the perfume instantly without opening it. After opening the box she discovered that the perfume had dripped out of the bottle all inside of the box. The spray didn't really work either.
I emailed to see if we could receive a replacement bottle. But no word back on that as of today.
